
REGIONAL MEET

​
Many students present at the regional meet. Approximately 600 + students meet at Penn State Behrend annually between January and March to present results for review by a panel of judges. Those students awarded a first earn the opportunityy to attend the State Meet.
PROJECTS

RESEARCH
​
​
Students research ideas and information to develop a question for investigation.
DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION
​
​Students craft a question based on background research and design an investigation that will generate quantifiable data.

DATA AND ANALYSIS
​
Students carry out research and collect data for analysis of trends and patterns. Data is interpreted and presented to support or reject the hypothesis to the question.

PROJECT PRESENTATION
​
​Students design a presentation of their results. Presentation may be accomplished using a tri-fold backboard, or more commonly, digital software such as PowerPoint or Prezi. The presentation can be no longer that 10 minutes total.


STATE MEET
​
Students from all over the Commonwealth meet in May at University Park to present their projects. Panels of judges review all students again. Students earn a first, second or third award. Many first awardees are eligible for Special Awards at both the Regional and State Meets.
